CHRISTINE S. CONWAY | is a licensed professional counselor who earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in counseling at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D. C. and a B.A. from Boston College. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults for over thirty years as a professional counselor, teacher, school counselor and consultant. In 1993, Dr. Conway co-founded Cornerstone Family Counseling in Fairfax, Virginia where she is currently in private practice. Dr. Conway conducts workshops and seminars on child development, parenting and family issues.
BEVERLY HUBBLE TAUKE | is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her M.S.W. degree at The Catholic University of America. She also holds an M.A. in Communications from Wheaton College, Illinois, and a B.R.E. from Baptist Bible College in Pennsylvania. Her graduate clinical training focused on cancer patients as well as alcohol and drug addicted clients and their families. Prior to work in clinical settings, she held communications posts in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, taught journalism and communications at a Christian college in Africa, and published work in magazines and newspapers in the U. S. and Africa. Married and the mother of two children, Mrs. Tauke brings a family systems perspective to her counseling work.
JAMES L. ALEXANDER | is a licensed clinical social worker who earned his M.S.W. from Indiana University and a B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College, Illinois. He is also a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider and specializes in treating sex addiction, victims of sexual abuse, and sex offenders. He has extensive experience in marital therapy as well. He also teaches at Regent University (D. C. campus) as an adjunct professor. Prior to joining Cornerstone he was co-owner of a private practice in Prince William County. Mr. Alexander is married and enjoys parenting two sons.
BETH C. MICH | is a licensed professional counselor who earned an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in Illinois and a B.A. in Psychology from James Madison University in Virginia. She enjoys working with individuals and couples. She also administers premarital counseling and marital satisfaction inventories. She resides in Herndon, Virginia with her family.
PATRICIA ELIAS | is a licensed clinical social worker who earned a M.S.W. degree at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, a B.S.W. from Salisbury State University and an A.A. in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Wor-Wic College. She has experience working with chronically ill homeless individuals, substance abusers, co-parenting issues associated with separation and divorce and women that have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault. Ms. Elias has extensive experience with families and children that have experienced grief, loss, and sexual abuse. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, families and groups.
THERESA M. SHALTANIS | is a licensed professional counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist who earned an M.A. in clinical psychology from Wheaton College in Illinois and a B.A. from Concordia University Wisconsin. She has been providing mental health care since 1991 in a wide variety of settings: private practice, public mental health emergency services, child & adolescent hospital, and a seminary counseling office. Some areas of key interest are women’s issues, eating issues, adoption, professional church workers, marriage relationships, and crisis situations. Theresa is married and has two children.
KRISTIN L. RUSSELL MOUTTET | is a licensed marriage and family therapist who earned an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Community Counseling from John Brown University in Arkansas and a B.A in Communication from Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, Washington. Ms. Mouttet worked for 6 years with university students in various capacities, 2 years as Counselor in the counseling center. She also worked for nearly 3 years with children and families providing in-home family therapy through a community mental health agency. Other work has been in the areas of premarital, women's issues, children and adolescents. She provides individual, couple, premarital, marital and family counseling. Ms. Mouttet is married and currently working on her studies toward a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision.
CARLA MESSENGER | is a clinical psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and families. She received her doctorate from The George Washington University in 2005 with an emphasis in child/pediatric psychology. Her dissertation focused on psychological factors associated with treatment compliance and self-care behaviors in adolescents with Type 1 diabetes. She has worked in medical settings with children diagnosed with a variety of chronic illnesses. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh , NC . She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Child Development Program at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington , DC that involved conducting developmental assessments with young children ages 0-4 years and providing consultation to families and early intervention specialists.
PAM MASANIELLO | is a Licensed Professional Counselor who holds a Masters degree in counseling from Regent University and a B.S. in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire. Before joining Cornerstone Family Counseling, Ms. Masaniello worked for several years in an acute care behavioral health hospital, serving a wide range of ages and diagnoses. With over 25 years of experience, her work has included child welfare, residential treatment for special-needs children and adolescents, geriatric care management and Expressive Therapy. She has also provided support services to missionaries. Ms. Masaniello's clinical focus is with individuals, couples, and families in the areas of depression and anxiety, and other mood disorders, life-stage transition, attachment, grief work, and interpersonal growth. She has led process and psycho educational groups focusing on self-discovery, life purpose, communication and relationship building. She and her husband have been married for 37 years and have two married daughters.
REBECCA PUCHY | is a clinical social worker and marriage and family therapist who has worked with children, adolescents and adults for over 15 years. Her education includes a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, NY and a Master of Social Work from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Rebecca has experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, personality disorders, stress, trauma, women's issues, and grief/loss. Additionally, she works with couples and families. Rebecca lives with her husband, a military chaplain, in Alexandria, Virginia.
